Chinese Medicine 爱中医 Acupuncture, Herbology, Tuina, Energectics, Dietetics (Nutritional Medicine)
In Chinese Medicine its more important to prevent illness than to treat it. We are aware of the changes of the seasons. But we are not always as aware that our bodies also are influenced by what happens in nature. In Chinese Medicine, human nature and the universe are in sync. Our bodies reflect a micro cosmos that has its own climate.
Acupuncture has been used in China for several thousand years, with whole hospitals wings dedicated to its practice. Chinese Medicine is based on an ancient philosophy that describes the universe, and the body, in terms of two opposing forces, yin and yang. When these forces are in balance, the body is healthy. Energy, called "qi" flows along inner pathways, called meridians, throughout the body. This constant flow of energy keeps the yin & yang forces balanced. However, if the flow of energy gets blocked, like water getting stuck behind a dam, the disruption can lead to lack of function, pain and dis-ease. Acupuncture releases old blocked energy in your body. With no side effects, Acupuncture brings fresh energy by awakening your body‘s own motivation and desire to be in harmony. The human system knows the way of harmony.
Acupuncture is the oldest continuously practiced medical system in the world. It is considered the fastest growing health-care system in America today.
Many disorders can be treated by acupuncture and adjunctive therapies, here are a few examples:
Orthopedic (chronic tenseness, neck pain, shoulder pain, lower back pain, sciatic nerve pain, injuries, ankle, wrist, knee, back, hip, shoulder impairment, post knee-replacement, post hip-replacement care)
Emotional (stress, anxiety, depression, PTSD)
Digestive (constipation, diarrhea, leaky gut, microbial burden, arthritis)
Respiratory (cough, asthma, allergies, sore throat)
Neurologic (post-stroke recovery, Bell’s Palsy, Trigeminal Neuralgia)
Autoimmune (rheumatoid arthritis, thyroid)
Circulatory (hypertension)
Urinary and Reproductive (chronic UTI‘s, urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, prostrate health, fertility, menstrual cramps)
Addictions (nicotine and other drugs)

All the following modalities can be used on their own and work very well combined with acupuncture:
Cupping
Glass or plastic jars applied to the skin, with suction over painful or stuck areas, releasing built up toxicity and reestablishing joints mobility. Cupping leaves circular marks for a few days, like a gentle bruise, indicating toxins are being released.
Moxibustion
Moxibustion is an integral part of Acupuncture. Moxa is made with the herb Artemisia Vulgaris, the moxa is Luton the tail of the needle and then is lighted up in such a way that the heat of moxa moves stagnation, warms the meridians, and relaxes muscles. It is particularly effective for joint stiffness, muscular strain, menstrual disorders, and general debility. Warm needling Acupuncture (Wen Zen Jiu) is classified under the method of indirect moxibustion. Moxa can also be held over the skin in form of a cigar, or on top of a needle. Ariane learned the ancient Chinese art of moxa and fire needling from her master teacher, Yen Wei Choong.
Ariane frequently uses guasha, cupping and moxa for musculo-skeletal disorders, which bring faster results than needling alone.
Auriculotherapy
Auriculotherapy is based on one of the microsystems of acupuncture, the ear, which has a very close relationship to the brain and holds representations of all organs and body parts. Auriculotherapy is used as both diagnosis and treatment. Tiny needles made of gold or stainless steel are held into place for several days to continue stimulation of the point, which will relay the message to the brain and in turn to the organ.
Tuina
A whole department is dedicated to this manual therapy in Chinese hospitals. Ariane did her training at the Acupupressure Institute in Berkeley. Conditions commonly seen are neck, shoulder, low back, knee, and ankle problems.
Guasha
A buffalo horn or spoon (nowadays also gemstones) used to scrape the skin in order to release tension in superficial muscles.
Acupressure
You can support your natural immune strength with acupressure points. Learn to engage with your natural homeostasis and life force abilities, enhancing the flow of energy through the meridian pathways to keep yourself strong in winter. Ariane includes Acupressure to allow the body to release tensions and sometimes traumas that stand in the way of improvement.
Acutonics® Integrative Sound Healing
Is an integrated approach to Oriental medicine, psychology, science, cosmological studies and sound healing principles. This energy based, non-invasive treatment form is similar to acupuncture and works with vibratory energy through precision calibrated tuning forks. Ariane has been working with Vibrational Medicine since 2010, she is currently completing her Acutonics® certification.
Music creates order out of chaos; for rhythm imposes unanimity upon the divergent, melody imposes continuity upon the disjointed, and harmony imposes compatibility upon the incongruous.”
